This American motorcycle sculpture was a 'roaring' success.
Taking over two years to complete the commission, Michael became well known in
Glasgow and Edinburgh motorcycle showrooms. It was a daunting task as
Michael initially knew very little about motorbikes. However his eventual
success was recognised in two newspaper articles and was also mentioned on
television.

Tommy Tug
Michael was asked to produce a rocking toy, other than a horse,
suitable for one or more children. Living in
Glasgow
with its seafaring history, it was appropriate that the clients immediately
chose Michael's conception from initial drawings. These drawings followed
many visits to Glasgow
's
Museum
of Transport
where Michael studied models of past seagoing Scottish Tugs and Puffers. |
